Helping Children Travel Anywhere with Their Imagination

Pretend journeys invite children to create their own stories

A simple ticket, chair, or cardboard box can become the start of a whole adventure. Fuzzi and Gram’s mysterious ticket shows children that they do not need to leave home to explore new places in their minds. Ask open questions such as, “Where would your ticket take you?” and “What would you see when you arrived?”

Create pretend tickets together, then take turns choosing a destination and adding details to the trip. Children can pack a small bag, draw a map, make a train sound, or describe the people they might meet. Celebrate their storytelling with phrases like, “You thought of a new place,” “You added a great detail,” or “Your imagination took us somewhere exciting.”
