Taking turns and listening can make a big idea work better
Gram is so excited about his new bicycle that he wants everyone to join in at once. Fuzzi helps him learn that caring for friends means paying attention to safe limits, sharing fairly, and listening when someone has a helpful idea. As you read, ask, “What makes one bicycle ride safe?” or “How could the friends take turns?”
Practice turn-taking with a favorite toy, game, or activity. Use a short timer or a simple “my turn, your turn” phrase, and invite your child to help decide a fair plan. In active play, talk about safe limits and why they matter. Reinforce the skill with words like, “You waited for your turn,” “You listened to the safety plan,” or “You found a fair way for everyone to join.”
