Making Fair Plans When Friends Want the Same Thing
Sharing a favorite item works better when everyone helps create the plan
When everyone wants a turn on one special scooter, the excitement quickly becomes an argument. Fuzzi and Gram learn that a fair plan can make space for every rider and help friends return to having fun together. As you read, ask, “Why did the scooter cause an argument?” or “What made Fuzzi and Gram’s plan fair?”
When children want the same toy or activity, invite them to help make the sharing plan. They might take turns with a timer, choose an order, or agree on what the person waiting can do. Keep the plan simple and visible when possible. Reinforce fairness with words like, “You helped make a plan for everyone,” “You gave someone else a chance,” or “Your fair choice helped the game keep going.”
