As you read, ask, “What was missing from Chef Bella’s basket?” or “What would you pack for our picnic?”
Invite your child to help pack a simple snack or meal for an outing by choosing a fruit, filling a water bottle, or carrying a napkin. Remind them to wash hands before eating and to clean up together afterward. Encourage their helpful planning with words like, “You remembered something our picnic needs,” or “Thank you for helping us take care of our park.”
