Practicing Fair Turns With Friends
Sharing a special experience helps everyone feel included
The harbor telescope offers a wonderful view, but there are many friends who want a turn. Fuzzi and Gram learn that fair turns help everyone enjoy the experience and make the group feel more welcoming. As you read, ask, “Why was it important to share the telescope?” or “What made the turns feel fair?”
Practice turn-taking with a shared favorite item, game, or activity. You can use a short timer, a simple “my turn/your turn” phrase, or let your child help decide the order. Talk about how waiting can feel and what makes it easier. Reinforce thoughtful sharing with words like, “You made room for someone else,” “You waited for your turn,” or “Everyone got to enjoy it because you were fair.”
