Chef Bella’s picnic search is a gentle way to talk about foods that help our bodies grow, play, and feel energized. Looking for a rainbow of fresh foods encourages children to notice colors, tastes, and textures without pressure. As you read, ask, “What colorful food would you pack?” or “Which fruit or vegetable is your favorite color?”
Let your child help choose one or two simple picnic foods for your next outing, such as washed berries, crunchy vegetables, whole-grain crackers, or water. Practice safety by washing hands before eating, keeping cold foods cool, and asking an adult before trying an unfamiliar food.
