When snow changes Fuzzi and Gram’s usual plans, they use their imaginations to make something new together. Their snowy games, sculptures, and warm cocoa show children that a surprise can become an opportunity for creative play. As you read, ask, “What new idea did Fuzzi and Gram try?” or “What would you build or play on a snow day?”
On a day when plans change, invite your child to help invent a new activity using what is already around you: a blanket fort, a pretend café, a paper sculpture, or an indoor obstacle course. Let them suggest the materials and rules, then join in. Reinforce flexible thinking with words like, “You found a creative new plan,” “Your idea made today special,” or “We turned a surprise into fun together.”
