Inviting Imagination Through Puppets, Music, and Play

Open-ended creative play gives children room to explore their own ideas

Fuzzi and Gram’s moonlight parade shows how everyday things—shadows, sounds, and simple puppets—can become part of a magical new idea. Creative play supports children as they experiment, tell stories, and share what they imagine with others. As you read, ask, “What kind of puppet would you make?” or “What music would your parade have?”

Try a simple puppet playtime with paper bags, socks, paper shapes, or toys you already have at home. Let your child decide the characters, the sounds, and what happens next; there is no need for a finished performance. Build confidence by saying, “I love the idea you added,” or “Tell me more about what your puppet is doing.”
