Everyday observations build early thinking skills
Pretend detective play invites children to slow down and look closely at the world around them. Fuzzi and Gram’s playground clues give them practice counting objects, matching shapes or colors, and describing what they notice. Questions like, “How many do you see?” “What matches this clue?” and “What changed?” build observation skills without making learning feel like a test.
Create a simple clue hunt at home, in the yard, or at the park. Give your child a clue such as, “Find something round,” “Count three steps,” or “Look for two things that are the same color.” Work together when a clue feels tricky, then celebrate the process: “You looked carefully,” “You used the clue,” or “You figured it out together.”
