The noisy nest gives Fuzzi and Gram a chance to notice how sound affects other people. A quiet voice is not about taking away fun; it is a tool children can use when others need to focus, rest, or listen. As you read, ask, “How do you think the readers feel?” and “What kind of voice would help in the library?”
Practice a simple voice-level game at home: try a whisper voice, a table-talk voice, and an outdoor voice, then name places where each one works best. If noise becomes a problem, help your child pause and think of a solution, such as moving to a different spot, taking turns, or asking an adult for help. Reinforce the skill with words like, “You noticed what others needed,” “You adjusted your voice,” or “You found a helpful solution.”
